What is the road tax on a bike in Delhi?
Delhi charges a one-time road tax of 8% of the ex-showroom price on petrol two-wheelers. Electric two-wheelers are exempt.
What is the road tax on a bike in Noida and Ghaziabad (UP)?
Uttar Pradesh charges a one-time road tax of 7% on two-wheelers up to ₹40,000 and 10% above that, as a share of the ex-showroom price. Electric two-wheelers are exempt until 13 October 2027.
What is the road tax on a bike in Gurgaon and Faridabad (Haryana)?
Haryana charges a one-time road tax of 4% on two-wheelers up to ₹75,000, 6% up to ₹2,00,000 and 8% above that, as a share of the ex-showroom price. Electric two-wheelers are exempt under the Haryana EV policy.
Is road tax charged on electric scooters?
No. Electric two-wheelers are exempt from road tax in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh (until 13 October 2027) and Haryana. You still pay registration fees and insurance.
Is road tax calculated on the ex-showroom or on-road price?
On the ex-showroom price (the vehicle cost before insurance and registration). It is paid once, for the life of the vehicle, when the dealer registers it.
If I buy in Delhi but live in Noida, which road tax applies?
The road tax of the state where the vehicle is registered, which is your address. A Noida resident pays Uttar Pradesh road tax at UP-16 even when buying from a Delhi dealer.
